Since the launch of Lynk & Co’s first product 01 in 2017, the sales volume of Lynk & Co 01 has approached 100,000. However, after the manufacturer’s system upgrade in July and August this year, more and more users began to complain, mainly reflecting the weakening of power, the delay in turbine intervention, the obvious increase in fuel consumption, and the steering card. There are also more and more complaints on the car quality network. In short, the performance is worse after the system upgrade.

Many users continued to give feedback on forums and Weibo for several months, until December 23, when Lynk & Co finally published an official explanation of the problem and apologized for the misunderstanding caused by the software upgrade to the majority of car owners.

In the description, the Lynk & Co manufacturer released a new version of the software of "Automotive Engine Control Module" and "Transmission Control Module" on July 13 to optimize the smoothness of the shift when the vehicle is traveling at low speeds, and believes that this upgrade does not involve changes in vehicle power and economy, but only a shift in driving style.

Lynk & Co said that it is currently open to users to upgrade the comfort style software version, providing a smoother power output to meet the user requirements of comfortable driving style. For users generally report the problem of weakened power, Lynk & Co said that it is developing a sports style software version that will enhance the vehicle’s power response.

Many car owners test drive before purchasing a vehicle to confirm whether it meets their needs. Now Lynk & Co officials have admitted that the driving style has changed after the system upgrade, which is actually a kind of harm for early users, provided that users do not know how it will change after the upgrade. Some car owners left a message saying that they asked Lynk & Co to provide the service of lowering back to the original system version, and the power returned to the same as before. At the same time, some users asked Lynk & Co to announce the specific content of the system upgrade, allowing users to weigh whether they need to upgrade.

After the Lynk & Co 01 system was upgraded, an industry insider said that the torque at low speeds became weaker, while the torque at high revolutions became stronger.

In the early days, Lynk & Co claimed that the 100-kilometer acceleration time of the 2.0T equipped with the 6AT model was 7.7 seconds, and this model was also the main power model. After the system upgrade, the user found that the power feeling was weakened. After checking the user manual, they found that the 100-kilometer acceleration time had been revised to "8.2 seconds". Now when they go to the official website to check the specific information, there is no specific data on the 100-kilometer acceleration score.

Regarding this issue, Lynk & Co officials said that the power has not changed after the upgrade.

"We will definitely give you a good experience," said Yang Xueliang, Geely’s vice-president, in response to widespread reports from users that the system upgrade has caused changes in vehicle power, fuel consumption and driving experience. "We apologize for the trouble caused to you."

At present, the Lynk & Co brand has three mass-produced models: 01, 02 and 03. Sales in November reached 12,321 units, down 19% from October. The overall sales of the Lynk & Co brand in the first 11 months reached 114,629 units. Among them, in November, the Lynk & Co 01 sales were 5,302 units, the 02 sales were 3,008 units, and the Lynk & Co 03 sales were 4,011 units.

The sales volume of Lynk & Co 01 in recent months has been more than 9,000 units, which is very stable. In November, it suddenly dropped to more than 5,000 units. One of the reasons is the potential consumers who shared 01 after the launch of the new car product. In addition, the public opinion caused by the early 01 users’ dissatisfaction with the power change caused by the manufacturer’s system upgrade also led to an impact on sales. I hope Lynk & Co can face up to the voices of consumers and solve the problem.
